Review:
The sequel to the highly praised first feature is a strong stand alone film. Without seeing the original I was never left wondering what was happening as the past story-line is seamlessly integrated, feeding us important snippets of backstory along the way. Dragon 2 is a refreshing tale that focuses on the storytelling and not pop culture references to entertain. It’s a coming of age story of a boy and his dog, I mean dragon. It’s also a complex family drama and of course an epic scale dragon adventure. The action is really well staged the world’s are beautifully designed and then there’s the dragons. The creativity and imagination that has gone into all the different dragons is incredible. Dragons 2 makes me interested in catching up on the first film and left me looking forward to see the third.

Review out of five stars: ★★★★ Stars.
